A glogster is an online poster. With gloster,students or teachers can design the layout,and add pictures, text and video. My online poster is a glogster about Harriet Tubman and the underground railroad. I included pictures of Harriet, text about her live, and a video clip from a children’s movie about Harriet Tubman. I also included pictures that depict the Underground railroad and information about it.
ProsIt is free. It allows students and teachers to add video and a video they recorded. It saves time because it eliminates the time spent on printing pictures, cutting them out, and gluing them to the poster.
ConsIt can be time consuming because there is so many things you can choose to put on the glogster. Since the possibilities are endless, it is easy for your poster to look cluttered.
In social studies the teacher could give the students a certain person in history to research, and then the students have to create a glogster based on the research information they found. In reading the teacher could assign the students a book report, and they have to do their book report in a glogster. In language arts the teacher could give a spelling or vocabulary word to the students, and have them make a glogster about the word. In science the teacher could create a glogster, and use it as an introduction of a new topic. ProsIt is a great way to organize your ideas. It is free to use. When you create an account, it saves all your maps to your account.
ConsIf you have too many nodes on your map, you will not be able to see your whole map. Unlike some concept mapping tools, you cannot add images.
