Teaching Philosophy
I believe that all students can and will learn at high levels regardless of their ethnicity, background, or other extenuating circumstances. I believe that in order to accomplish this, it is my job as a teacher to know, love, and care about my students, and to teach them in a way that they can learn and accomplish everything to their best ability.

It is important for a teacher to build a strong relationship with all students. Teachers should learn the strengths, weaknesses, interests, and learning styles of each student. Teachers should also build a relationship with all students that goes beyond knowing them as a learner. It is important for a teacher to know his/her students as a person, as well. When a teacher and his/her students have a strong relationship, the students will feel comfortable to learn, which will allow them to be successful.

It is also important to set high, yet achievable expectations for students. If a teacher does not set high expectations, then he/she is not allowing the students to reach their highest potential. Allowing students to reach their highest potential can open so many doors for each student and build their self-esteem and self-efficacy. If students know that they can accomplish much, then they will do much.

My biggest belief is that teachers should teach children to love learning. If a student comes away with a love for learning, then their is nothing that student will not be able to accomplish because education is the key to success. A teacher instills a love for learning in students by integrating engaging lessons, presenting a comfortable and inviting classroom environment, and having a positive and exciting attitude.

Teachers should also have a love for learning, and should always have the desire to learn. It is very important for teachers to continue to develop and grow in their professional development. The world is always changing, and if a teacher does not continue their education, they will be left in the past, which will have a negative effect on their students.
