Grand Oaks Elementary School is part of the Anderson County School System, and is one of the nine elementary schools. Grand Oaks is home to the blue and gold Eagles, students Kindergarten through 5th grade, and over 30 staff members, including Principal Jessica Conatser.

Poems, Drama, and Prose Lesson Plan
In this lesson, students will learn the different structural elements of poems, drama, and prose. Also, students will learn the difference between them. To begin the lesson, and as a pre assessment, students will complete a word sort of the different structural elements; categorizing them by the type of genre: poem, prose, or drama. Then, students will complete a structural elements scavenger hunt, and complete an authors checklist as a summative assessment.
This is a project that I completed based on the students and my experiences in Mrs. Hughes's fourth grade classroom. I included my thoughts about my first day, details about each student, and my final tips and words to those students.
